Competitive Rivalry- Moderate

The rivalry Superior Towing faces in this industry is moderate. Superior towing offers traditional towing services as other companies however, they have equipped themselves with vehicles that can service heavy-duty vehicles such as trailers, busses, and cement mixers.

 

Bargaining Power of buyers- Moderate 

Although superior towing extends their services to heavy-duty vehicles and automobiles, there is no exclusivity to their business servicing standardized vehicles. If consumers are unhappy with the quality of service they are receiving they can request assistance from another company in the vicinity.

         The bargaining of Suppliers- Moderate

Superior towing is contracted with both Triple A and Auto Zone. Triple A supplies Superior Towing with dispatching software, uniforms, and batteries. Auto Zone on the other hand gives Superior Towing a discount on any supplies they may need.  

 

The threat of substitution- Moderate

 

Since its creation in 2002, Super Towing has networked themselves so well and has built meaningful relationships in all its locations. In addition to their networking, they have also befriended both local and state police in several locations.

 

The threat of new entrants- Weak

 

It would be unrealistic for a new towing company to enter the market and rival the stature of Superior Towing. Superior Towing’s foundation is far too grounded to be displaced by a new company.

Competitive Strategy:

Unlike many other towing companies, Superior Towing & Transport provides heavy duty services. Some of these services include: local towing, Flatbed Towing, Winch and Recovery Service, and repairs . Superior also does Roadside services, this includes: Jump Start and battery service, Tire Change service, Lock out service, gas delivery, etc. Superior Towing being one of the large haul towing companies in the tristate area to have direct connections with AAA for all needed services. While having acquisition of a large fleet of towing assets and the direct contact with AAA puts Superior Towing far ahead of competitors and allows it to provide unmatched customer service.
